Thousands of fight fans were in attendance to see “The Notorious” Conor McGregor host an exclusive Q & A session at “The Devenish Bar”, in West Belfast.
The 28-year-old Irishman is fresh off winning his second UFC Championship by knocking out former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez. He is the first MMA fighter in history to simultaneously hold two UFC championship belts.

The Dublin native has made history at every turn of his MMA career, and he seemingly wants to continue that trend, in another sport.
“Maybe I can pursue the boxing side. Maybe there’s something there”.
McGregor made headlines this week, announcing (via his manager) that he had been granted a California State Boxing License. McGregor has been long linked with a fight with boxing kingpin Floyd Mayweather, a legend in his own right that at 39 years old holds a record of 49-0.
And as ever an unpredictable commodity as the Irish sporting legend is known for, he had some choice words for Floyd Mayweather.
“I don’t give a fuck about Floyd”, exclaimed McGregor, to a packed house of “Notorious” fans. “I don’t need Floyd, I don’t need him”.
“I’ve got the boxing license, now Floyd’s away in the Bahamas!”.
He also had choice words to say about being relinquished of his UFC Featherweight Championship. The UFC announced this week that McGregor had voluntarily given up the UFC Featherweight Championship, citing “time off” as the reasoning. McGregor, however, had another explanation.
“I see the stuff online, but I don’t see the belt not in my presence. The belt is right there, there’s still world titles in my home”.
“Jose (Aldo) was KO’d, Eddie (Alvarez) was KO’d, and you’re looking at the two weight world champion”.
McGregor later added insult to injury to the UFC’s latest Featherweight shuffle, stating “I’ll say this to the UFC, you’re fooling nobody”.
McGregor gave respect to Belfast, saying “If you celebrate your surroundings, you will celebrate your success”.
“Up North I’ve always had a crazy following…So the support I’ve had up here has been unbelievable, so that night in New York was for everyone that supported me all the way through”.
Although its not clear as to what McGregor’s next move is, it’s apparent that Belfast will follow him wherever he goes.
